What are Do-It-Yourself Medical Tests?

What is your Blood Type? --- All the talk about type 2 Diabetes, are YOU at risk?--- Concerned your liver is acting up? --- Could your symptoms be a UTI? Get questions like these and more answered!

The DYI Testing Center is FREE to the public, providing the most widely used tests to make it easier for busy people to 'keep tabs" on basic health markers. Several tests are available and are either via saliva, urine or blood. Do-It-Yourself means you must be able to prick your own finger for tests requiring blood samples. You may bring someone with you to assist.

Results are instant - no waiting and no mail-in tests. Private and confidential. Must be 18 and over unless accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. 



What if I need help with a test?

Competent staff will be there to assist with any questions about the tests - how to take, how to read the results and to supply necessities for each test. 

What Tests are Available?


BLOOD TESTS: Blood Type, Cholesterol, Glucose, HbA1c, Hemoglobin

URINE TESTS: Keytone, Liver Function, pH (Acid/Alkalinity,) Pregnancy, Protein in Urine, UTI (Urinary Tract Infection,) Yeast Infection

SALIVA TESTS: HIV, Uric Acid Levels



Denise Ogee, LPN

Denise Ogee is a Licensed Practical Nurse, receiving her training during eight years with the United States Army. She worked in the Step Down ICU, Postpartum and Antipartum Units at Madigan Army Medical Center. Additionally, she has worked in Cardiology and spent the last sixteen years as an OB/Gyn nurse. She is now a part of the Wellness Center at New Life Christian Center in Yelm, Washington. Her function there is in the Medical Testing Center. This vital community outreach provides a place for answered questions and guidance in interpreting results.
